Dec 1 - 3, 2009  On December 1st through the 3rd, the Distinctive English Teaching Seminar of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's Primary Schools was held as scheduled in the capital, Nanning.  (Nanning, Guangxi)

Among those present were: Mr. Ding Junhua, the Deputy Secretary of Foreign Language Education and Research Center of the State Basic Education; Mr. Xu Shisheng, the executive director of Chinese Society of Education Foreign Language Professional Committee (also the vice president of Guangxi Normal College); Mr. Owen, the CEO of Buckland International Education Group; Mr. Patrick (USA), the key foreign teacher from Buckland Group.

Mr. Patrick, a foreign teacher from the United States, gave an open oral English lesson to the six-grade students and delivered an oral speech on developing the western methods of teaching English in primary school. His unique teaching philosophy and methods, superb drawing skills, and his witty and humorous teaching style won the laughter and applause of all the teachers and students. It was also deeply inspiring to the participating teachers. He was awarded a gold medal for his lesson given during the teaching competition.

Holding such kinds of teaching, research, and exchange activities will surely be beneficial to the primary and secondary English teachers in Guangxi.

The important participants include: Mr. Tao Xiping, the Vice-Chairman of World Federation of UNESCO Association; Professor Dai Jiagan, the Director of Ministry of Education Examination Center; Dr.Susan Sclafani, the former U.S. Vice Minister of Education, the consultant of United States in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation; Mr. Owen, the vice president of China Bilingual Education Research Association (also the CEO of Buckland International Education Group)

The seminar proposed to further promote educational reform, establish Senior Secondary Education, and train more innovative talents. It also proposed the "High School International Program" aims to improve the students English (bilingual) levels, academic capabilities cross-cultural communication, innovation and team spirit.

Oct, 2009  American TESOL China Program was launched to train Chinese graduates from Teacher Colleges throughout China  (Guangxi)

As American TESOL institution¡¯s new affiliate, Buckland International Education Group has launched the American TESOL China program in Guangxi Normal University to train new Chinese graduates from Teacher Colleges. This initiative meets China¡¯s recent English education reform. All students successfully completing this program will be issued an internationally recognized TESOL Certificate and be offered a job placement from Buckland Group.

Sep 19 - 28, 2009  Buckland International Group's administration staff tour several key schools in the province of Shaanxi

This past September Wang Ping (Director) and Patrick Thompson (Assistant Director) toured 6 different Buckland franchised schools in the province of Shaanxi. After first meeting several long-term Buckland veteran teachers in Xi'an, they visited the following schools (in order of visitation):

     1. Huaiya Middle School      2. Hanzhong Experimental Primary School    3. Hanzhong Longgang School

     4. Ankang Hanbin Jiangbei Middle School    5. Ankang Peixin Primary School       6.Jingbian High School

The primary goals of the trip were to solve any issues between the teachers and the schools, get better acquainted with each school and its staff, learn more about each city, collect multimedia samples of each school for the benefit of BucklandGroup.net (and prospective teachers), and collect vital data for use in teacher placement and school recruitment.

Sep 14, 2009  September 14, 2009, the China Bilingual Education Research Association performed the "Primary and Secondary Teaching and Research Center" listing ceremony in Yangshuo Owen College (belonging to Buckland International Education Group). (Yangshuo)

Qiao Yuquan, the Director of Basic Education of Ministry of Education; Liu Zhaoyi, the editor of Bilingual Newspaper; Hou Yulin, the director of China Bilingual Education Association; Ye Chenxin, the Deputy Director of Yahgshuo Bureau of Education, presented the ceremony.

As the CEO of Buckland Group, Mr. Owen expressed that they will never live up to expectations, carry forward the pioneering spirit and fully assist the primary and secondary teaching and research work of the China Bilingual Education Research Association, try to build up Yangshuo into a bilingual tourist city in China!

Aug 17 - Sep 4, 2009  38th - 40th Orientation Programs for Buckland New Foreign Teachers

About 45 new foreign teachers from USA, Canada, UK and Australia arrived in China starting on August 12, thereafter receiving a one-week orientation course in Yangshuo with Buckland Group. They were then sent to 35 teaching sites in 6 provinces across China.

July, 2009  2nd "Buckland Cup" English Speech Contest Summer Camp in Hong Kong (Hong Kong)

The 7 first place winners finalized at the 2nd "Buckland Cup" English Speech Contest went to Hong Kong for a one-week summer camp held and fully sponsored by Buckland International Education Group. These students are from 7 Buckland franchised schools in Yongzhou city, Hunan province.

June 20, 2009  Second "Buckland Cup" Yongzhou High School English Speech Contest - a Successful Closure of Finals

23 first to third prize winners finalized from the semi-finals from 7 Buckland franchised schools in Yongzhou city competed in the finals taken place at Buckland Owen College in Yangshuo. As awards, the first place winners from each school is flying to Hong Kong for the summer camp held by Buckland, and the 7 second place winners are attending Buckland's summer camp held at Yangshuo.

For accelerating the Bilingual Education Experiment in Human province, Buckland International Education Group started and has been sponsoring this annual English speech contest.

May 29, 2009, The Group held a celebration: celebrating the 10th anniversary of Buckland International Education Group !  (Yangshuo)

Professor Liu Mingqiang, researcher of the international exchange office of the education department of Guangxi, President of the China Success Education Research Association, vice President professor Li Chengzhong and Professor Huang Zhuo and other leaders, experts and friends dozens of guests attended the ceremony.

Feb 9-27, 2009   35th - 37th Orientation Programs for Buckland New Foreign Teachers

3 orientation sessions getting 35 Buckland new teachers ready for 2009 spring semester were successfully ended on February 27. These new groups of teachers are from the U.S., the U.K., Canada and Australia. After a one-week orientation in Yangshuo,they were sent to 25 Buckland franchised schools in 4 provinces in China as oral English teachers to assist with their host schools English and Chinese bilingual education.

Sep 22-23, 2009  September 22-23, Hengyang (Hengyang, Hunan Province)

Owen and his main office staff will travel to Hengyang, Hunan to hold the ceremony for No. 8 Hengyang Middle School to become the 63rd Buckland franchised school. Two Buckland foreign teachers who just finished their Orientation Program in Yangshuo will start teaching at this school.

Aug 22 - Sep 9, 2009  32rd - 34th Orientation Programs for Buckland New Foreign Teachers

About 40 newly arrived foreign teachers from Australia, U.S., U.K. and Canada will take part in this year's summer orientation sessions to learn about Chinese culture, Chinese education system, and receive TEFL training specifically designed for teaching Chinese students. Sightseeing in Yangshuo will also be arranged for these three groups of new teachers during their orientation week.

Aug 22 - 24, 2008   15th Foreign Affair Officer Training Program (Yangshuo)

Principles, foreign affair officers and Chinese English teachers from Buckland franchised schools will participate in this three-day training course which delivers lectures and group discussions on five aspects, including foreign affair legislation, foreign teacher supervising, solutions for conflicts, cross-culture understanding and communication, teaching and extra-curriculum activity management.

July 6, 2008  Yangshuo Friendship Club Founding & Earthquake Donation Ceremony (Yangshuo and Hunan)

For bringing together people from different professions for resource sharing and enhancing Yangshuo's internationalization, one leader from the Rotary Club in Novato, California and Owen Buckland founded the Yangshuo Friendship Club. This club is a transformation of Rotary Club in America which is the donator of dollars to China's Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster in this ceremony.

June 14, 2008  No. 1 Xinshao Middle Schools Bilingual Education Experimental Program Launching Ceremony

Through cooperating with Buckland International Education Group, No. 1 Xinshao Middle School became one of the bilingual education experimental schools in China on June 14, 2008. The program launching ceremony was held in the conference room of No. 1 Xinshao Middle School. Owen, the CEO of Buckland, Mr. Zhou, the local bureau administrator, and primary administrators in No. 1 Xinshao Middle School participated in this ceremony.

As an agreement, Buckland will provide No. 1 Xinshao Middle School with foreign experts on English teaching and teacher training, bilingual curriculum, foreign affair administration training and assistance on forging an English rich learning environment on campus.

May 14 - 15, 2008  Buckland-Yongzhou Middle School Oral English Competition (Yongzhou city, Hunan Province)

Buckland-Yongzhou Middle School Oral English Competition took place in the Multi-Media Conference Hall of Yongzhou No. 8 Middle School. 38 senior high school students from 11 schools in Yongzhou were competing through four sections, including Prepared Speech, Spontaneous Speech, Picture Cued Story-telling, and Ask and Answer Questions with Foreign Teachers.

This competition is fully sponsored by Buckland International Education Group. As the rewards, the 10 first-place winners will be sponsored by Buckland to travel to Hongkong for the "Buckland Summer Camp" and the 11 second-place winners will head over to Yangshuo for a free "Buckland English Summer Camp"

Feb 17, 2008  28th & 29th Orientation Programs for Buckland New Foreign Teachers

Just after the Chinese Spring Festival, Buckland Yangshuo office had two new groups of foreign teachers from America, Australian, England, Canada and Poland for its 28th and 29th Orientation Programs. These teachers will stay in Yangshuo for 5-10 days for a cultural orientation, TEFL training and sightseeing. During the orientation program, new teachers are provided comprehensive information on Buckland Teaching Programs, Chinese educational system and opportunities to bond with senior foreign teachers. After choosing host schools, new teachers will be arranged to travel to Buckland franchised schools and start teaching and exploring in China.

Sep 22, 2007  Cooperation Agreement Formed between Buckland and Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange

At the Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange

After around two-month exchange visits, inspection and discussions, Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange and Buckland successfully signed an agreement of collaboration on promoting the Bilingual Education in Human. With the fully support of the Hunan Educational Ministry branch, Buckland will be able to maximum its western resource and accelerate the internationalization of Hunan's education system.

July 8 - 12, 2007  1st V.E.T. Training Program for Volunteers

V.E.T. (Volunteer English Teachers) and Buckland together held a five-day cultural orientation and TEFL training program specially designed for V.E.T. foreign volunteers who will teach Chinese students in China's low economic status areas.

April, 2007  Advanced Seminar on Education Management for Chinese Education Leaders in Columbia, University.

A group of primary educational administrators from Chinese middle schools and high schools were in America for 16 days participating in this seminar held by the China Educational Research Center in Columbia University.

This trip is organized by Buckland Group and the China Education Development Research center for the purposes of improving Chinese leaders educational management ability and broadening their international view. During this trip, Chinese fellows were also taken on American school tours which allow them to observe and explore American educational system.

Feb, 2007  The British Publisher VACATION WORK Published a Book Teaching English Abroad Introduced and Highly Recommend Buckland Group as One of the Best Organizations for Teaching in China.

The book says: Many organisations recruit teachers for China from the UK. Nina Capek chose Buckland Iinternational Education Group to help organise her teaching job in China,and is full of praise for them: Foreign teachers are not required to pay a fee to sign up with Buckland unlike some companies who charge a lot of money. They sorted out my work visa for me, they collected me from the airport and put all the new teachers up in a nice guest horse for their first five days in the country ...
